A Sea Pines Wedding

The Liberty Oak does a lot of the work for you. Its limbs reach out over the deck, so even in strong sun you have a huge soft shade to stand under, and your family formals look like a painting instead of a lineup. Then the marina and the lighthouse are right there, and nobody has to get in a car.

The photos here are from Emily and Cade's wedding in January 2025, a tented wedding at Sea Pines Country Club with the ceremony under the Liberty Oak. Look at how the blue of the dresses sits against the green of the oak. Think about your colors with this place in mind, because it will be in every frame.

Eloping On Hilton Head

Jen and Justin hired me for their Hilton Head elopement, and here is what they said.

"We asked Vitor Lindo to do our Hilton Head elopement photos after researching local photographers. He more than met our expectations! We were blown away with how beautiful the photos turned out. Marrying On The Beach

The Town of Hilton Head Island requires a free permit for a beach ceremony. Apply online at least 30 days ahead with your location, date, start time, how long it will run and your guest count. Islanders Beach Park is closed to wedding permits from September 8, 2026 through May 31, 2027, so pick another beach for those dates.

Also On The Island

Honey Horn, the Coastal Discovery Museum at 70 Honey Horn Drive, has a 4,000 square foot covered pavilion, ceremony sites under live oaks and 68 acres, with a terrace looking over Jarvis Creek.

Hilton Head Questions

Do you need a permit for a Hilton Head beach wedding?

Yes. The Town of Hilton Head Island says beach ceremonies need a permit. It is free, and you apply online at least 30 days ahead.

Can you get married at the Liberty Oak?

Yes. The Sea Pines Resort lists The Liberty Oak as a ceremony site with a capacity of 200.

Where do we get a marriage license for Hilton Head?

Beaufort County Probate Court. It works by appointment, has a 24 hour waiting period and takes cash in the exact amount. The fee is $50 if either of you lives in the county, $75 if neither does but one of you lives in South Carolina, and $95 if you both live out of state.
