Indian weddings In Savannah

Layered, vibrant, multi day celebrations in a city that makes a beautiful backdrop for them. My studio specializes in weekends like these.

White draped mandap with red floral crown in the courtyard at Victory North
Baraat with flower petals in the air and guests dancing in the street
Black and white portrait of the bride laughing in full bridal jewelry
Bride in a red veil and gold embroidered lehenga in soft light
Groom raised above the dancing crowd during the baraat
Red floral invitation set with a gold bridal necklace
Reception seen through a circle of red and green florals

What I Have Learned Shooting These

An Indian wedding is not one day and it is not only about the couple. It is about legacy, ritual and community. I have photographed Hindu ceremonies, Muslim Nikahs and fusion weddings. The photos above are from Parul and Neil's wedding at Victory North and Aziza and Imran's at the Jepson Center.

Knowing when to step back is part of the job. I know not to interrupt a sacred ritual for a photo, and I know where to be when the crowd parts or when emotion peaks.

Savannah Things To Plan For

  • Baraat route. Ask your venue and planner early. Street use downtown may need a permit, and the route affects how we plan the photos.
  • Mandap and sun. For an outdoor ceremony, tell me where the mandap will face. Harsh midday light can be fixed with planning, not after.
  • Multi day coverage. Mehndi, sangeet, ceremony and reception each have their own feel. Tell me which ones you want documented.
  • Family portraits. Large families need time. Build a real block into the schedule, with a written list.
